Are you passionate about your work? Do you love to work in a team on cool and exciting ideas? Then you might be interested to join us: Software Spinner – the creators of MyExpatTaxes!

We are a young startup, started out in 2018 with our first product: MyExpatTaxes – a solution for US Expats who are struggling with filing their tax returns with the IRS. Today we have users from 100+ countries and have won multiple industry awards.

Now we need you to take us to the next level: We’re looking for a DevOps engineer to join us as soon as possible!

What you offer

You are a software developer who’s familiar with current web technologies for backend and frontend development and not scared of DevOps and CI/CD. Ideally, you have 2-3 years of experience under your belt and enjoy working independently.

You take pride that your code is clean and easily maintainable. You always care about the security and the scalability of your work.

There are a few technologies that we work with and that you will have to be familiar with:

  • Kotlin programming language (backend)
  • TypeScript / React framework (frontend)
  • Docker
  • Cloud service providers
  • Relational databases

In addition, we’d love it if you brought skills in Træfik, Linux, Scala or NoSQL databases to the table.

Don’t have all of these skills? Don’t worry about it – we care a lot more about your character and attitude and will be happy to teach you what you need.

Your responsibilities

We need an individual who can help MyExpatTaxes to create and operate a product built with state-of-the art technologies.

We’re a small team, so you’ll have a direct influence on the development of the product.

By working together on growing MyExpatTaxes, you’ll enable the team to
add more features more quickly, and operate them in a secure and stable environment.

You’ll be responsible for implementing and operating the MyExpatTaxes software. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and implement extensions to and change requests for our product
  • Plan and implement cloud- and container-based runtime environments
  • Assure the quality, security, and maintainability of the product
  • Support the tax team in case of technical problems within the product

What we offer

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin,
gender, sexual orientation or age.

We respect that family always comes first and you will find us willing
to accommodate your schedule. We care for our employees and for our customers.

Following the guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement for IT, we offer a monthly gross salary of €3300. We’re open to part-time employment as well.

Our offices are in Vienna, Austria, and we’re looking primarily to hire locally. We’ll consider strong candidates outside of Vienna, too – remote work is always a possibility.
